Telecom Fiber
In terms of investments in broadband technology, Sweden is in the forefront, but there is a lot more to be done. The government’s earlier goal was that 95% of all households should have access to broadband with a minimum speed of 100 Mbit/sec. The situation at the beginning of 2021 is that 80% have access to broadband, 54% via fiber. For the continued development of the network, the Swedish municipal networks have an important role to play, irrespective of how the issue of localisation is handled.
Harju Elekter will contribute to the continued development of the fiber network through our membership of the Swedish Local Fiber Alliance (Svenska Stadsnätsföreningen).
We have developed a number of standard fiber equipment shelters which comply with the guidelines for Robust Fiber, and thus meet the level of operational availability required for a fiber installation.
In other words, our range includes fiber equipment shelters that come optimally equipped as standard. This makes it simple to produce site-specific solutions that will meet the different needs of most network owners for their sites or nodes.
One of our projects is a fiber equipment shelters at Lidköping Municipality:

Lidköping Broadband, a unit within the Technical Service department of Lidköping Municipality, manages and develops the city’s boadband network. Harju Elekter was contracted by the municipality to supply seven fiber equipment shelters for the development of the fiber network in the area.
